There are a few things you need to know before you go into this line of work; first you need to check your local laws, some states have very strict regulations governing day care, even if it is in your own home. You will need to comply with safety regulations, and each state has their own limit for the number of children, and what ages you can watch at one time. You also need to be sure that you handle a small number of children for long periods of time and that your house is very childproofed, because no matter how hard you try you cannot see everything that goes on.
